As a teacher, my goal is to encourage musicality and enthusiasm while also showing students how to figure things out on their own through strong note reading and problem solving skills. I teach piano students of all ages and levels of experience -- lessons are customized to each student's individual learning style, interests, and level. Beginner students learn the basics of musical notation, rhythm, and finding their way around the keyboard. More experienced pianists can expect to build on these skills while working on a variety of music that is chosen based on student preference. Students benefit from the expert guidance of a conservatory-trained teacher while most importantly, having lots of fun! A solid foundation in music theory and ear training is incorporated at all levels and across genres.
